Passion for Design & Craft in High Point, NC

No city in America thinks harder about how a home should look and feel than this one. Twice a year, the furniture world arrives in High Point, and the people who live here develop an eye for materials, proportion, and craft that most of the country never does. It's a good place to be a builder who cares about details.

Wolfe Homes builds custom homes and takes on renovations, additions, and whole home remodels throughout High Point, in Emerywood's historic streets, around Oak Hollow Lake, and on homesites across Guilford County. We've worked from our Greensboro shop for 45 years.

Homeowners here are investing in a city that's been busy reinventing itself, sometimes in a new home on a hard-to-find lot, more often in a well-built older house that deserves to work the way families live now.

Questions About Building & Remodeling in High Point, NC

Most High Point homeowners arrive with the same handful of questions, so here are the honest answers. If yours isn't covered, ask us directly, and we'll tell you what we actually know rather than what sounds good. Nothing below is a sales pitch.

How much does it cost to build a custom home in High Point, NC?expand_more

Custom home construction with Wolfe Homes starts at roughly $400 per square foot of interior conditioned space, with premium projects starting at $500 and select level projects starting at $600 or more.

Those figures cover construction only, so land, site development, landscape, and pools are budgeted separately. We produce a Tier One Estimate early in the process so you know where your project stands before anyone invests in detailed drawings.

Can you renovate an older home in Emerywood or another historic neighborhood?expand_more
Yes, and those projects are some of our favorites. Older High Point homes were often built beautifully and laid out for a different era, so the work usually involves opening up the spaces families actually use while protecting the character that made you want the house. We scan every project in 3D before drywall goes up, which gives you a permanent record of the wiring, plumbing, and framing behind your walls, something that matters even more in a home with decades of history in it.
Will you work with the architect or designer I've already hired?expand_more
Yes, and we do it often. Your relationship with them stays your own, and we coordinate through concept plans, construction documents, selections, and the build itself. If you haven't chosen anyone yet, we can introduce you to architects and designers across the Triad whose work fits what you're picturing.
What happens if construction uncovers something unexpected?expand_more
You'll hear about it immediately, along with your options. Older High Point homes occasionally hide things that no amount of planning could reveal, and demolition is usually where they surface. We'll explain what we found, why an adjustment may be needed, and how each path affects your budget and schedule, then you decide.

Our Remodeling Services

Home
Remodeling

Much of our High Point work is renovation, since the city's best streets are lined with homes built decades before open kitchens and primary suites existed. We handle additions, full interior reconfigurations, custom cabinetry, and the mechanical and structural updates older houses need. Our designers build on what a home already does well rather than erasing it, which is why a Wolfe addition tends to read as original rather than added.

Custom
Homes

We build custom homes across High Point and Guilford County, on hard-to-find infill lots in established neighborhoods and on larger sites outside the city. Design and construction stay under one roof, so you see what a decision costs while the plans can still change rather than after they're stamped. What you end up with is a home shaped around how your family actually moves through a day.

Service
and Repair

Handing over the keys isn't the end of the relationship. Our service and repair team covers warranty items, ongoing maintenance, and the small things every house eventually needs, in homes we built and homes we didn't. Having someone to call about a stubborn door or a leaking valve, someone who already knows what's behind your walls, is a large part of why High Point families stay with us for decades.
