Our Design-Build Process

1 | Consultation

Every project begins with a conversation. We’ll meet to understand your vision, discuss your needs, and explore your goals. We'll focus on understanding your preferences, concerns, and priorities. Next, we’ll outline the project scope and sign a design agreement, setting the foundation for a successful collaboration.

2 | Design

This is where your vision takes shape. Our team will create detailed concept plans, refine layouts, and help you select materials that reflect your style. We’ll work closely with you to finalize the design and establish a clear budget and schedule. By the end of this phase, you’ll have a complete plan tailored to your goals, ready for construction.

3 | Build

Throughout the build, you’ll receive weekly progress updates, ensuring you’re informed and involved. We prioritize transparency with monthly invoices and regular allowance updates for remaining selections. Our team’s attention to detail ensures your space is completed to the highest standard and ready for you to enjoy.

How do you begin a renovation project?expand_more

We start the process by asking homeowners lots of questions, and really listen to what they want. The first couple of meetings reveal a lot. Are we the right personality for each other? Are we the right builder for your project? From the beginning, we work to gain your trust so that every phase of the project runs smoothly and with open lines of transparent communication. Each of these factors is key to the success of any project.

How does the design process work?expand_more

Wolfe Homes works with a number of residential architects in the Triad area. We will be glad to suggest one who will best meet your needs. We’ll meet with you and the architect to develop design and budget criteria.

Wolfe Homes monitors the development of the custom design to make sure all design and budget criteria are met. If small changes are being made to an existing plan, their cost will be included within the cost of the construction contract. If the design is from scratch, then we use a separate design agreement between Wolfe Homes and you as the client.

It may feel like there are a lot of moving parts during the process, but don't worry! We're committed to guiding you through every stage so the process moves smoothly from one to the next. And, we're always here to address your concerns and problem-solve efficiently and effectively.

How do you ensure the addition or remodel blends in with the rest of my home?expand_more

There are a number of firms in Greensboro that build additions or remodels but fail to make it feel like they were always part of your home. That’s the difference between basic remodeling and doing truly fine renovations. We’re able to successfully integrate modern amenities into the last character of your Piedmont Triad home so that it looks like it was always meant to be that way.

What happens if I want to make changes during the construction phase?expand_more

One purpose of a standard schedule of client selections is to provide an opportunity for your review and possible changes.

This minimizes potential delays caused by last-minute changes. Of course, changes can occur anytime, but proper preparation can minimize their cost. Depending on your type of contract, Wolfe Homes may require payment before changes are made. At any rate, whether changes are pre-paid or paid by your lender in monthly payments, Wolfe Homes will provide and review our change clause in your contract before moving forward.
